Only
Trust The Best
Creeping
down the stairs
To
a room full of presents
My
mind was running wild
Would
it be a teddy bear?
As
I tore through the wrapping paper
I
saw her pink dress
“Wahoo!”
I screamed, I could not wait 'till later
I
just had to play with her
Ever
since that Christmas day
I've
brought her everywhere
Played
with her all day
Changing
her clothes and brushing her hair
As
you know I loved her lots
That
favourite Barbie of mine
I
lent her to a friend one day
I
thought she'd be fine
When
I got my Barbie back
She
had a new look, make-up on her face
And
scribbles down her back
Her
hair was cut and clothes ripped
I
cried for like a week,
Until
my mother said
“We
will get you a new one”
So
I did just that, and also got a bed
Climbing
trees, and scraping knees,
A
kid will be a kid,
But
the lesson here you see
Is
only trust the best
Now
as for my Barbie
Where
is she now?
She
has a new friend Marley
Who
is in the hospital, sick, very sick
